In the five wards of the Division of General Paediatrics, experienced physicians and care teams guarantee top-quality pediatric medicine in the interests of regional and transregional care with over 5,000 inpatient admissions per year. The large number of mother-child units allows an accompanying person to be accommodated in an age-appropriate setting. Freedom from anxiety and pain is a top priority. With our focus on the child and family, we facilitate the best treatment and a short hospital stay through close collaboration among all specialists. Eight special outpatient clinics are available for patients with chronic disease. Each year over 17,000 children and adolescents receive care in line with the latest findings of medical science. To shorten the odyssey of patients with unclear or rare diseases, a center for rare genetic diseases has been developed in cooperation with the Diagnostic and Research Institute of Human Genetics.
The uniqueness and the added value of our division are the result of the symbiosis between patient care, research and education. The division is jointly operated by the Medical University of Graz and the Styrian Hospital Association (KAGes). This interdisciplinary cooperation between both providers at the University Hospital Graz site is also reflected on our website. More information on patient care can be found at the University Hospital Graz website.
